Kay Street highly values our children and young people, and we do our best to help them at every stage of their development. Our aim is to see them grow and be discipled into young followers of Jesus Christ. We have groups and activities for every age – from baby through to young adult.
Family and Children’s Work
Sunday mornings at Kay Street
Crèche
For ages 0 - 3, crèche runs on a Sunday morning and is an excellent opportunity for children to develop and interact with others. Parents are welcome to stay with their children or leave them in the care of our crèche team.
Kay Street Kids!
For ages 4 - 10 (Reception to Year 6), there are lively, fun and engaging activities in small groups and all together, including crafts, stories and games.
During the week
Kay Street Caterpillars (Mondays Mornings) *
Kay Street Caterpillars meets every Monday in term time from 9:30 to 11:30am. We welcome pre-school children and their carers to a morning with all sorts of play, craft activities, stories, singing, snacking and making friends. There is a suggested donation of £3 per family to cover the costs.
Mainly Music (Thursday Afternoons) *
Mainly Music meets every Thursday in term time - mornings 9:30-11:00, and again in the afternoon 13:00-14:30. We welcome pre-school children and their carers to join in 30 minutes of songs, rhymes, actions and movement followed by some time to eat, play and chat. There is a suggested donation of £3 per family to cover the costs.

Bosom Buddies (Friday Mornings)
Bosom Buddies meets every Friday in term time from 09:30 to 11:00am. This is a free weekly group run by qualified breastfeeding peer supporters who can offer guidance and support for any mums who need it.
Youth Work
Whirlwind (Sunday Mornings)
For ages 11 - 14 (Years 7 - 9), Whirlwind sessions have silly games, serious discussion and Bible teaching on a range of themes relevant to questions being asked today. Whirlwind meets during the Sunday morning service. Those aged 14+ are encouraged to stay and take an active part in the Sunday service.
Young People (Sunday Evenings)
YP meets every Sunday evening at Kay Street from 6:30pm for ages 13 – 18 (Year 9 upwards). YP is about exploring a personal faith and developing a deeper relationship with Jesus, along with the opportunity to ask questions and discuss topical issues.
(Vision) Youth
Many of our young people are also a part of (Vision), which is a Christian youth organisation based here in the Rossendale valley. You can find out more about (Vision) Youth and (Vision) Kids here.
NWBA Youth
Our Minister, Jonny Hirst is also the Regional Minister for Youth for the North Western Baptist Association which runs the annual IMPACT youth weekend, held each October, and the young adults discipleship programme called NWBA {Disciple} Find out more here.
